Noopept (n-phenylacetyl-l-prolylglycine ethyl ester)

Noopept is one of the most effective and strongest of all the Nootropic supplements on the market today. Studies have shown it has the potential to offer many benefits in terms of improving memory, learning capacity, focus, and concentration. It is being used in other parts of the world as a treatment for more serious cognitive diseases and ailments. The supplement is also important for supporting overall brain health as it is considered a neuro-protectant (it has the ability to help protect the neurons in the brain from damage) and improving overall brain communication through the development and growth of new synapses. Studies also show Noopept stimulate the expression of Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) and Brain-Derived Neurotropic Factor (BDNF) in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex. The hippocampus is the region of the brain responsible for the formation of memories and consolidation of short-term memory to long-term memory. BDNF is a protein that is crucial in determining the quantity of new neurons the brain can create, as well as regulating growth, survival and, differentiation of existing neurons. NGF is a protein that is critical for the survival and maintenance of sympathetic nerve and sensory neurons.

    AlphaSize® Alpha-Glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline

Brain nutrient; Alpha-GPC (Alpha-Glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline) is considered to be one of the most effective brain nutrients in the world, and is used widely in clinical settings around the world involving memory loss, cognitive dysfunctions, and dementias of various kinds. (AlphaSize 50WSP)

      Cognizin® Citicoline

Cognizin® Citicoline is a scientifically proven brain nutrient that helps to improve memory and enhance overall cognitive function. Citicoline is a natural precursor to one of the most important neurotransmitters in the brain called Acetylcholine. By taking a choline source like Citicoline, you can ensure that your brain is properly supplied with enough acetylcholine to regulate the many millions of transmissions that occur between your neurons every moment. Acetylcholine, a key player in memory formation and storage, is specifically implicated in synaptic plasticity, which is a measure of your brain’s ability to form new connections and increase communication between neurons. As you age, your brain actually produces less energy over time due to many different factors. Cognizin® Citicoline can slow or reverse this decline by improving some of the basic metrics of neuron health. Citicoline also works to improve neuron health by increasing mitochondria activity in brain neurons. These mitochondria are the energy producers located within each cell. The supplement also has been shown to increase levels of ATP (which is the essential energy component that is produced by the mitochondria). With better energy supply, you will experience more clarity of thought and processes involved in memory, learning and reasoning become much more efficient. Cognizin® is a registered trademark of KYOWA HAKKO BIO CO., LTD.

In broadest terms, vinpocetine is a powerful memory enhancer. It achieves this principally by facilitating cerebral metabolism and improving blood flow in the brain. It works by causing mild dilation of blood vessels, thereby allowing for increased cerebral blood flow, which results in increased oxygenation and glucose utilization. This makes vinpocetine an ideal candidate not only for the improvement and prevention of certain disease processes in need of increased blood flow and oxygenation, but also for athletes who want to enhance their performance by increasing brain oxygenation. In addition to more efficient brain circulation, vinpocetine has been found to increase brain-cell energy through its effect on the production of ATP (the cellular energy molecule). Since many brain disorders have been found to be caused by poor circulation or by neuronal damage due to inadequate oxygen and inadequate amounts of energy, it makes sense to consider vinpocetine in one’s daily cognitive supplement program.

          Eleuthero Root (Siberian Ginseng)

Ginseng is, perhaps, the ultimate herb, giving your body a much needed boost in energy, improved concentration, and increased immune system function. Recent studies have shown that the benefits of ginseng do not stop there…it may also be helpful in treating impotence and combating stress. Siberian ginseng is especially good for fighting stress, but it has also been known to have properties to cure other ailments. With effects on the adrenal glands, the benefits of Siberian ginseng include: prevention of illnesses caused by stress, boosted energy levels, relief of chronic fatigue syndrome symptoms, and increased immune system function. Scientific studies have shown that healthy people who take ginseng are better able to deal with stressful situations. Individuals who participated in the study were able to work more accurately and with higher speed, even in the presence of a stressful environment. Benefits of Siberian ginseng and other varieties of this powerful herb can also be seen in their ability to combat exhaustion and boost the overall energy levels of your body. It can do wonders for your overall health and well-being.

            Bacopa Monnieri Extract Powder

Recent studies indicate that Bacosides, B. Monniera’s primary components, enhance nerve impulse transmission, possibly helping improve concentration, learning, memory, and attention span as well as other higher order cognitive functions. Preliminary lab results also suggest it influences the production and availability of Serotonin.

              Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Powder

Ginkgo is most commonly used to improve memory, reduce vertigo, and stop tinnitus (ear-ringing) through its effects on the vascular system. It increases blood flow to the brain, and other organs of the body. Ginkgo reduces the platelet activity factor (PAF) in the blood, similar to the action of aspirin on blood thinning. Excessive PAF has been linked to cardiovascular disease, brain damage, hearing disorders and other immune and inflammatory diseases. It may also increase metabolism, regulate neurotransmitters, and boost oxygen transport to the brain. Ginkgo has potential antioxidant properties reducing oxidative cell damage and naturally slowing the aging effects. Clinical trials have been promsing to test the effectiveness of ginkgo biloba as a medicinal herb for treating Alzheimer’s disease. Ginkgo has been reported to improve short- and long-term memory. It increases mental clarity and focus. Ginkgo has also been used to fight the gradual loss of energy brought on by aging.

                DMAE (as Deanol L-Bitartrate)

Enhance brain activity. Because of more readily moving through the brain-blood barrier before conversion into choline, it is believed that DMAE is more effective in aiding brain function such as making neurotransmitters. As an antioxidant, DMAE can deactivate free-radicals (oxidative stress). Increase ability of the immune system. Alleviate behavioral problems (improved attention span, decreased aggression, improved learning ability, and sometimes increased intelligence). Increase attention span (students showed improved concentration at lectures and during examinations). Improve learning, memory, creativity, and verbal fluency. Increase energy. Reduce sleep needed. A reduction of one hour was noted after 6 weeks of DMAE use and sleep was reported to be more sound and refreshing. Increase lucid dreaming.

                  Guarana Seed Extract Powder

Rich in Caffeine, it is of interest for its potential effects on cognition. A 2007 human pilot study assessed acute behavioral effects to four doses (37.5 mg, 75 mg, 150 mg and 300 mg) of guarana extract. Memory, alertness and mood were increased by the two lower doses, confirming previous results of cognitive improvement following 75 mg guarana.

Stress hormones known as glucocorticoids are activated by both stress and depression. In turn, they cause imbalances in brain chemistry that interfere with mood and memory. The effect is biochemical. Glucocorticoids disrupt serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, and other brain chemicals. Worse still, glucocorticoids can cause the brain to shrink. Counteracting glucocorticoids is extremely important. Theanine also suppresses glucocorticoids, and it is one of the few dietary supplements that crosses the blood-brain barrier. Theanine’s connection to the suppression of glucocorticoids is through glutamate. Researchers have discovered that this natural component of brain chemistry, which is not traditionally associated with depression, in fact plays a major role. In people who are depressed, glutamate levels are out of balance. Preliminary studies show that blocking certain signals in the brain activated by glutamate may be as effective as prescription antidepressants. L-theanine may act as a glutamate antagonist. Researchers believe that glutamate receptor antagonists may offset the harmful effects of high glucocorticoid levels and offer neuroprotective effects against both acute and chronic neurodegenerative diseases.

Major contributor in improving symptoms of memory loss, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, jet lag and fatigue. In addition to its major beneficial functions, it also helps to supply the body with glucose needed for energy.

                          AllQ® CoEnzyme Q10 (as Coenzyme Q10 CWS)

AllQ® Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an antioxidant that is made in the human body. CoQ10 is needed for basic cell function. CoQ10 levels decrease with age and may be low in people with cancer, certain genetic disorders, diabetes, heart conditions, HIV/AIDS, muscular dystrophies, and Parkinson’s disease. Some prescription drugs may also lower CoQ10 levels.

                            Vitamin B3 (as Niacinamide USP-FCC)

Niacinamide does not cause flushing at any dose. It is readily converted to an enzyme called NADH that is needed for metabolism and energy production. Unlike other vitamins, the body is able to make its own niacinamide using tryptophan as the raw material. Tryptophan is an amino acid the body also uses to make serotonin, a critical neurotransmitter for moods, sometimes referred to as the “happy brain chemical.” Since tryptophan is often in short supply in the body, taking niacinamide can help spare it and make more available for serotonin production. As a result, niacinamide has complex interactions with body and brain function as well as wide-ranging benefits. Niacinamide is also known to pass readily into the brain across the so-called blood-brain barrier, a natural defense that limits what can penetrate the brain. As a result, it is likely that niacinamide would exert the same anti-inflammatory effect in the brain. This is one way in which it could prove beneficial for Alzheimer’s disease which, according to new research, develops as a result of inflammation of the brain. In addition to Alzheimer’s, autism and also ADHD are believed to be often associated with inflammation of the brain.

Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine HCL USP-FCC)

It is involved in the process of making serotonin and norepinephrine, which are chemicals that transmit signals in the brain. Vitamin B6 is also involved in the formation of myelin, a protein layer that forms around nerve cells.

                                Vitamin B12 (as Methylcobalamin USP-FCC)

Methylcobalamin is the most absorbable form of Vitamin B12 and is needed for nervous system health. It uses a methyl group (just carbon and hydrogen), where cyanocobalamin has a cyanide group (and obviously cyanide isn’t something you want in your vitamin). Your body actually has no use for the cyano- compound itself, and will set about converting any cyanocobalamin you take into methylcobalamin as soon as possible as the methyl- compound is what the human body needs to function properly. The issue then is about how much gets converted before it passes through your body. Because of this, methylcobalamin should be the first form of Vitamin B12 thought of when interested in attempting to optimize the health of the nervous system with vitamin supplementation. Vitamin B12 is also used for memory loss; Alzheimer’s disease; boosting mood, energy, concentration and the immune system; and slowing aging.

                                  Vitamin E (as d-alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate)

Vitamin E is necessary for structural and functional maintenance of skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle. It also assists in the formation of red blood cells and helps to maintain stores of vitamins A and K, iron, and selenium. It may have a positive effect on immune health, protect against the oxidative damage that can lead to heart disease, have preventive effects against cancer, help relieve symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, and may help prevent some diabetes-related damage, particularly to the eyes.
